RIP David Bowie (08th Jan 1947 - 10 Jan 2016)

From David Bowie Official:
"January 10 2016 - David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief."
Shocking news indeed.

I can still recall his last visit to Hamburg and not only the people of Berlin will miss him very much. We had the pleasure of some special concerts.
The word legend is used far too much, and not saved for those that deserve the accolade. Bowie was a complete legend in all senses of the word. A very sad day..............
Just a few days ago he released his new Album called Black Star and there were many release-parties around the world.

From Earl Slick:
First and foremost , to Iman , Duncan and Lexi my heart goes out to you .

To the man that had given me so much over the last 40 years i am beyond words at the moment .

good bye David ....
sleep tight my friend .

"I’m deeply saddened by such a sudden shock. David was a true original in everything he did and, along with many others, I’m going to miss him. Another goodbye to another good friend." - Keith Richards.

Message from Iggy Pop:
"David’s friendship was the light of my life. I never met such a brilliant person. He was the best there is.

- Iggy Pop"

Message from Tony Visconti:
"He always did what he wanted to do. And he wanted to do it his way and he wanted to do it the best way. His death was no different from his life - a work of Art. He made Blackstar for us, his parting gift. I knew for a year this was the way it would be. I wasn't, however, prepared for it. He was an extraordinary man, full of love and life. He will always be with us. For now, it is appropriate to cry."

He was a figure in popular music for over four decades, and was considered by critics and other musicians as an innovator, particularly for his work in the 1970s. His androgynous appearance was an iconic element of his image, principally in the 1970s and 1980s.
