"It's high time I started letting everyone know that I will soon have a fabulous new album to release featuring Grammy award winning country rock guitar legend Albert Lee.

This album is mostly original songs with a selection of good rockin' covers. It was a project recorded back in 2003 around the same time that we recorded Almost Grown featuring Imelda May and done at the same legendary studio Sweet Georgia Brown in London where our buddies Mick Wigfall and Ryan Sim-Savage had engineered some of the best bands of the times. I was nearing the end of my 4 years of touring with Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings and whilst Albert was in London I invited him to perform on what I feel are some of the best songs I have ever written.
The band is simply my good buddies Mark Morgan on drums, Al Palooka on bass with my fellow Rhythm King buddy the great Albert Lee on guitar and myself on vocals, acoustic guitar, etc. 

I'm very proud and most excited because I am just one of only several people in this world who have even heard these tracks and so I wish to leave them soon in your hands so you can judge for yourself if this album is a success. 
Mmm.. now I'm REALLY excited!!! So, if you're a Mike Sanchez or an Albert Lee fan, then good looking, you're gonna like what's cookin'!

„The Hamburg Boogie Woogie Connection 2011", das international bekannte Pianistentreffen in der „Fabrik", findet in diesem Jahr aus organisatorischen Gründen nicht am traditionellen 8.8., sondern am Freitag, den 19.8. statt. Die Hamburger Blues- und Boogie Woogie- und Klaviergranden Axel Zwingenberger und Vince Weber haben wieder internationale Größen der Szene eingeladen. Ganz besondere Freude macht die Zusage von Mike Sanchez, dem british-spanischen Sänger-Pianist-Entertainer bekannt von den "Big Town Playboys" oder "Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings". Ebenfalls erstmals mit dabei ist der Doyen der französischen Boogie Woogie-Pianisten, Jean-Paul Amouroux, der alljährlich das größte französische Boogiefestival in La Rocquebrou leitet und Silvan Zingg, der schweizer Piano-Entertainer. Ein Wiedersehen gibt es mit Big John Carter aus England, der mit seinem urwüchsigen Bluespiano die Zuhörer verzaubert. Gottfried Böttger begeistert wie immer mit seinen Interpretationen zwischen Ragtime, Blues und Gospel, und Jo Bohnsack bringt seinen kraftvollen New Orleans-Groove von der Nordseeküste mit. Weitere Überraschungsgäste werden erwartet!

First time at the Große Freiheit 36 in Hamburg, Germany. The stage was very high and as we like to stay front row it was difficult to see properly and take some pictures. The set was great. Albert and Martin played together on Albert´s guitar at the same time, which the audience loved. This was the first RKs-gig for Mike Sanchez for me.
