SHAKIN’ STEVENS - NEW ALBUM ‘ECHOES OF OUR TIMES'

Shakin’ Stevens has created a remarkable musical tribute to his once mysterious past.
This album has grown from Shaky’s realisation that, like most of us, he knew so very little about the background of his family - the stories of his ancestors’ loves and lives lost, and their struggles to survive.
Research revealed tales of poverty and strife in the Cornish copper mines, of bravery and loss in war, of philanthropic preachers and stoic Salvationists, of children suffering and of family secrets and feuds.
Blues, roots, Americana and classic rock take centre stage on this surprising record.
Available Friday 16th September 2016, on Digital Download, Special Edition CD and Digipak

Track listing:

1 Down In The Hole
2 Echoes Of Our Times
3 Behind Those Secrets And Lies
4 To Spread The Word
5 The Fire In Her Blood
6 Down Into Muddy Water
7 Suffer Little Children
8 Train Of Time
9 Love The World
10 Last Man Alive

Comments / Reviews / Photos:

  • Shakin Stevens: "Albert Lee played on my first album with CBS, and also toured with me in the early years - so it was great to be there for Albert's Anniversary last weekend, and to perform with so many talented musicians.
Alongside Albert, I also shared the stage with Andy Fairweather Low and The Low Riders.Andy's and my paths have crossed through the years, and to perform with him is a memorable experience.

I hope our paths cross, often."
  • Lisa Davies:
As Eric Clapton has famously said, Albert Lee is the world's greatest guitarist. Well, with that there is no doubt and I can also confirm he is the most humble, modest, kind and sweetest man you could ever wish to meet. It's been the greatest privilege and pleasure working with him and his lovely family for his London birthday celebration concerts at the weekend, not forgetting the rest of the team too!

  • Jim Cowan:
    "
Night one of the UK version of Albert's 70th birthday celebration couldn't be better." [shortened]

  • John Edwards:
    Sunday gig: "
The best gig that I have ever had the priviledge to see."
John has set up a fantastic photo album on FB, click here to watch.
