The Bands statement on the website:

Thin Lizzy is one of rock music’s most recognizable names. The fiery Dublin band exploded onto the scene with a fresh sound, look and attitude. Lead by the incomparable Phil Lynott, the band reached many peaks and influenced generations of musicians with classic tracks such as “Jailbreak”, “The Boys Are Back In Town”, “Still In Love With You”, “Cold Sweat”, “Emerald” and “Don’t Believe A Word” between 1969 and 1983.
2016 is a year that includes a couple of important anniversaries in the history of Thin Lizzy.  On March 26th, 1976, Thin Lizzy released the iconic “Jailbreak” album to the world. featuring such classic rock staples as “The Boys Are Back In Town” and the title track, “Jailbreak” and it become one of the most important albums of that era.  Now we are 40 years on since the release of that milestone and it is time to celebrate it.
2016 also see’s 30 years since Phil Lynott passed away (January 4th, 1986) and the world lost a rock legend.  But his legacy lives on and celebrating that legacy is what is in store.  In the summer of 2016 going into 2017, Thin Lizzy will stage a handful of special shows to commemorate these important milestones.
The Thin Lizzy lineup is vocalist Ricky Warwick, guitarists Scott Gorham and Damon Johnson, and Darren Wharton on keyboards.  As special guest, we have seasoned drummer Mikkey Dee from Motorhead.
Scott Gorham “With Black Star Riders taking some time off the road to work on their third album , I thought it would be really cool to do some Thin Lizzy shows as it’s an anniversary year, to have some fun and to re-live the good old days.  We will only do half a dozen or so dates to keep them special.  For personal reasons Brian Downey won’t be with us but we have the incredible Mikkey Dee on the drum stool, which we are all very excited about.  We will announce who is on bass shortly”
Mikkey Dee: “it’s an honor to be asked to play with Thin Lizzy on these dates, being a life long fan I am so happy and excited to playing with the band on these shows. It’s going to be great!”

The First Announced shows are:

Ellie Goulding on Tour 2016 (Germany, Luxemburg, Austria)

Ellie Goulding

Ellie Goulding: Englands Pop-Wunder

RIP Mr. Glenn Frey (1948-2016)

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/ff/Glenn_Frey_-_Sexy_Girl.jpg

Another very sad day in Rock´N Roll:

Glenn Lewis Frey (November 6, 1948 – January 18, 2016) was an American musician, singer, songwriter, producer and actor, best known as a founding member of the Eagles. Frey played guitar with Eagles as well as piano and keyboards and sang lead vocals on many Eagles hits such as "Take It Easy", "Peaceful Easy Feeling", "Tequila Sunrise", "Already Gone", "Lyin' Eyes", "New Kid in Town", and "Heartache Tonight".
After the breakup of the Eagles in 1980, Frey embarked on a successful solo career. He released his debut album, No Fun Aloud in 1982 and went on to record Top 40 hits "The One You Love", "Smuggler's Blues", "Sexy Girl", "The Heat Is On", "You Belong to the City", "True Love", "Soul Searchin'", and "Livin' Right".
As a member of Eagles, Frey won six Grammy Awards, and five American Music Awards. The Eagles have sold over 120 million albums worldwide and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, the first year they were nominated. As a solo artist and with Eagles combined, Frey has released 24 Top 40 singles on the Billboard Hot 100.
Glenn fought a courageous battle for the past several weeks but, sadly, succumbed to complications from Rheumatoid Arthritis, Acute Ulcerative Colitis and Pneumonia.

Another loss this year. I love the music of the Eagles and will always remember him. Thank you for the music and for your performances.

RIP Alan Rickman (21.02.46 - 14.01.06)

This morning another legendary rock n' roll figure, a secret hero really, left us. Giorgio Gomelsky at 82 (28 February 1934 – 13 January 2016) , passed away this morning after battling with cancer last few years, may he R.I.P. Initially known for first managing The Rolling Stones, producing The Yardbirds and bringing blues to Britain in the early 60’s, Giorgio influenced, inspired and also helped kickstart the musical careers of so many including Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, John McLaughlin….some of the all time greatest guitarists! And that's just on the surface of this man's multi-layered life.

RIP David Bowie (08th Jan 1947 - 10 Jan 2016)

From David Bowie Official:
"January 10 2016 - David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief."
Shocking news indeed.

I can still recall his last visit to Hamburg and not only the people of Berlin will miss him very much. We had the pleasure of some special concerts.
The word legend is used far too much, and not saved for those that deserve the accolade. Bowie was a complete legend in all senses of the word. A very sad day..............
Just a few days ago he released his new Album called Black Star and there were many release-parties around the world.

From Earl Slick:
First and foremost , to Iman , Duncan and Lexi my heart goes out to you .

To the man that had given me so much over the last 40 years i am beyond words at the moment .

good bye David ....
sleep tight my friend .

Slicky

"I’m deeply saddened by such a sudden shock. David was a true original in everything he did and, along with many others, I’m going to miss him. Another goodbye to another good friend." - Keith Richards.

Message from Iggy Pop:
"David’s friendship was the light of my life. I never met such a brilliant person. He was the best there is.

- Iggy Pop"

Message from Tony Visconti:
"He always did what he wanted to do. And he wanted to do it his way and he wanted to do it the best way. His death was no different from his life - a work of Art. He made Blackstar for us, his parting gift. I knew for a year this was the way it would be. I wasn't, however, prepared for it. He was an extraordinary man, full of love and life. He will always be with us. For now, it is appropriate to cry."

Simply wonderful. Make sure you have some tissues with you while watching and listening:

David Robert Jones (8 January 1947 – 10 January 2016), known professionally as David Bowie was an English singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, arranger, painter and actor. He was a figure in popular music for over four decades, and was considered by critics and other musicians as an innovator, particularly for his work in the 1970s. His androgynous appearance was an iconic element of his image, principally in the 1970s and 1980s.

Lemmy Kilmister passed away (1945-2015)

Lemmy Kilmister, Wacken 05.08.2011 by inesmusicpics
(c) inesmusicpics (Hamburg, Auftritt Wacken)

Ian Fraser "Lemmy" Kilmister (24 December 1945 – 28 December 2015) was an English musician, singer, and songwriter. He was best known as the lead vocalist, bassist, principal songwriter, founder, and sole constant member of the rock band Motörhead as well as having been a member of Hawkwind.

I will never forget the times I met him and how kind he was to all his fans. We had a blast at the Motörhead concert in Hamburg and will remember him for his great music and his very special humour. Thank you for giving us (your devoted fans) this last tour.

Those of you, who have seen him live, will never forget him.

Condolences to his family and his band mates Phil and Mikkey.

The bands fb page has come up with this statement:

There is no easy way to say this…our mighty, noble friend Lemmy passed away today

after a short battle with an extremely aggressive cancer. He had learnt of the disease on

December 26th, and was at home, sitting in front of his favorite video game from The Rainbow

which had recently made it’s way down the street, with his family.
We cannot begin to express our shock and sadness, there aren’t words.
We will say more in the coming days, but for now, please…play Motörhead loud,...
play Hawkwind loud, play Lemmy’s music LOUD.
Have a drink or few.
Share stories.
Celebrate the LIFE this lovely, wonderful man celebrated so vibrantly himself.
HE WOULD WANT EXACTLY THAT.
